The midfielder, speaking via Zoom from Boro’s Rockliffe Park headquarters, feels squad have coped well with the challenges of a mid-campaign hiatus.

„I think everyone looks fit, we got sent our individual programmes over the time we were off and everyone came back looking sharp,“ he said.

„It has been tough, being away from the building at first and then a couple of weeks of no contact training.

„But we’re back to normal now. Hopefully we can start again with three points at the weekend and get things going again.“

The energetic midfielder, who was on the scoresheet in our last Swans encounter, admits the lack of a Riverside crowd roaring the side on will take some adjusting to, but says the squad know our supporters are right behind the team.

„We’ve tested it out with a few friendlies, trying to get used to it because it is the downfall of the situation.

„Hopefully we can adapt to it.

„Representing this club, you have to give it your all no matter what. We have to prove to the fans we can stay in this division and next season has to be even better.“
